I believe that Klein, Plomedahl, and Ciarametaro all arrived on Okinawa shortly after I did, so you could check your records as to when they arrived. I seem to remember that it was not too warm that weekend, so I want to say that maybe it was Jan-Feb, 1985.

I distinctly remember Jerry Deex announcing that all who wanted to have fun, or liked to have fun were invited for camping at 96 Beach for the weekend. It’s funny how we remember things. I seemed to remember one of the sergeants making some comment about the announcement, and asking Jerry what he meant by “those who liked to have fun” - thus the “Fun Bunch” name was born. Had to have been Frink who coined the phrase.

I also remember the campfire chili, and Old Milwaukee ...
