Wow did that bring back memories. I remember the rehersals and premier for that piece. As it happens, I have a photo that contains most of the performers (attached). This is a low res scan of a slightly abused photo. I’ll send a good one later. I’m Horn player in the background.

I may have heard your name from Jonas, though I haven’t seen him or talked to him too much recently. I will be getting together with Kowitz and some others in the Minneapolis area in a couple of weeks.
Here's a little gem that you are probably familiar with:

Doug,
I was on the Training Support staff at the SOM from around 1978 to 1981 but I was in the Army at the time but was closer with the Navy and Marine Elements than my own since I reported up through them. I left the Army and enlisted in the USMC in 1984 and was stationed at Quantico. I recognized several faces in the pictures posted on the site but the two I remember most were John Jonas and Kris Kowitz.
It looked like most of the QMB rotated over there shortly after I was discharged.
I’m hoping to find a couple of others like my CO Capt. R.P. Myers and the Inst. Repairman who’s name escapes me right now but I heard he also ended up on the rock shortly after I left.
Thanks.
Bill

Bill,
Your name sounds familiar. I might have known you at the school.
Who is it that you’d like to get in contact with?

I don’t belong on your list but have friends on the list I wouldn’t mind hearing from if they remember me:
Bill Sweeney – French Horn
School of Music
Quantico Marine Band – until a motor cycle accident ended my career at 14 years (1987)
